U3 FUELCHEM aligns with COSCO's "Shipowner+Tank Owner" model

COSCO SHIPPING has officially launched the industry's first "Shipowner + Tank Owner" model by acquiring a 50% stake in VTG Tanktainer. The new entity, Shanghai COSCO SHIPPING Tanktainer Co., Ltd., is structured with 60% ownership by COSCO SHIPPING Logistics Supply Chain and 40% by COSCO SHIPPING Lines. This strategic restructuring integrates tank container assets directly with global shipping route networks. The objective is to enable "ship-side allocation" and "proximity service," significantly reducing costs associated with empty running, storage, and transshipment. This model targets liquid bulk sectors such as chemicals, energy, and food, shifting the service logic from simple equipment leasing to comprehensive "one-tank-to-the-end" logistics solutions. By controlling both the vessel and the container assets, the operator aims to provide full-lifecycle management and enhanced supply chain visibility for liquid bulk commodities.
U3 FUELCHEM️ leverages this logistics evolution to deploy its containerized energy products globally. The portfolio includes Hytrix hydrogen energy workstations, Hyvec️ solid-state hydrogen storage containers, and seawater hydrogen production modules. By aligning with COSCO's upgraded "Shipowner + Tank Owner" service model, U3 ensures seamless global delivery and logistics optimization for its modular energy infrastructure.
